SHARE EXPERIENCES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF REGISTERED AND CIVIL STATUS STATISTICS IN VIETNAM
Enhanced participation in sharing and learning international experiences In November 2014, the National Assembly adopted Law on Civil registration which is the highest legal document regulating civil registration Also in November 2014, Vietnam participated in the Asia Pacific Regional Ministerial Conference on registration and civil status statistics We found that the implementation of the documents of the conference will help implement the law on civic registration well
Enhanced participation in sharing and learning international experiences So we have been actively participate in activities related to CRVS in the region Finish “National Progress Update Template” to report the initial result Participate in seminars and classes related to CRVS
Develop a national implementation plan Adopted a National Action Plan of Vietnam on CRVS. Overall goals of the CRVS Plan includes: To ensure timely, complete, accurate and legitimate civil registration of Vietnamese citizens, foreigners residing in the territory of Viet Nam and Vietnamese citizens residing abroad To ensure every person is provided with legal documentation of civil registration Vital statistics are completely, accurately and timely produced and aggregated To ensure consistent coordination mechanism among related sectors
Develop a national implementation plan The tasks and challenges: Continue to complete the legal documents governing CRVS Improve infrastructure and techniques and modernize CRVS methods Strengthen capacity for CRVS officers Improve public awareness of civil registration rights and responsibilities Collect accurate, complete and timely vital statistics that respond to state management requirements
