Select Dashboard for departmental overview Select department from drop-down list – you may only be able to see your own department Select Dashboard for departmental overview Select Staff for staff list and total hours Summary of total departmental hours vs. staff activity allocated Hold cursor over chart to see total departmental hours on Research, Teaching and Admin

Click on hours for individual breakdown in each area of activity Staff details can be automatically uploaded from Astra or entered manually Select Update after adding or amending staff details

To add Teaching roles select category from drop-down list Add total hours for each role Role name can be added manually – i.e. for department-specific roles

Module data can be automatically uploaded or entered manually – Tariffs for Lectures, Seminars and Practicals are fixed at 1.25 hours per hour delivery (i.e. allowing 15 mins set-up time) – Tariff for Fieldwork is per day Additional prep time can be added if necessary For marking enter number of scripts multiplied by time for marking (e.g. 15*1) – recommended tariff is 1 hour per script for first marking. Select Update when Teaching data is complete

Research Roles can be added via the drop-down list Research Allowance should be agreed in discussion with the Line Manager / Director of Research Research Roles can be added via the drop-down list Research projects need to be added manually Project hours should reflect the FEC form Select Update when Research data is complete

To delete any entries enter x instead of hours A separate role name can be entered manually if required Add Admin categories from drop-down list Select Update when Admin data is complete

Click on Report to view Summary of Staff data Tick Record Complete once the WAMM has been reviewed and agreed by the member of staff and their line manager

Workload should be reviewed with individual members of staff as part of Effective Contribution Scheme
