SOCIAL SCIENCE SPEAKER SERIES STALL SEAT JOURNAL DIVISION OF SOCIAL SCIENCES SPRING 2017 WEEK 4 2017 CAREER & INTERNSHIP FAIR SOCIAL SCIENCE SPEAKER SERIES Join us on April 27 from 3:30-5pm in the Hannon Library, room 305 as Michael Copperman, senior instructor of English at the University of Oregon, talks about his memoir about his time as a Teach for America participant, Teacher: Two Years in the Mississippi Delta. (2016, University of Mississippi Press). He is senior instructor in writing working with first-generation and at-risk students of color at the University of Oregon. He earned his B.A. in English with Creative Writing from Stanford University, where he was selected as a Presidential Scholar. Teacher takes SOU and the Office of Career Connections are excited to welcome 40 local employers on Wednesday, April 26th for the 2017 Career and Internship Fair. This annual event provides students and alumni with the opportunity to learn about full- and part-time employment opportunities, as well as open internship positions, in a wide variety of fields. All students and alumni are welcome to attend us to the intersection of colliding political and cultural worlds: worlds segregated by race and class, where cultural assumptions about childhood innocence are broken down, and where the plans of elite educational reformers can become well-intentioned absurdities.
