Internet Safety By Ruby

What is the internet? The internet is the worlds largest computer network it’s millions and millions of computers connected to each other all over the world. The world wide web is one part of the internet. It allows you to move from one site to another or within one site with the click of a mouse.(sno-isle.org)

What devices can we use to access the internet? We can use desktop computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, games consoles, wristwatches, Ebook readers, digital cameras, cars, home appliances and smart glasses.(deviceatlas.com)

How do we communicate using the internet? We can use email newsletters, blogs, texts, video calling and email although there are lots more.(bbcbitesize.co.uk)

What programmes/apps do we use? We use facetime, text, skype, email, music.ly, websites, music apps, twitter, Facebook, Instagram, whatsapp, snapchat, viber, messenger and phone. My favourites are youtube, google and Spotify.

What information shouldn’t be shared? Private issues Your current location The internet is amazing but these are some things that you must never share online. Things you wouldn’t share with your family Passwords Personal information Click here for website

Online safety? Remember not everyone online is who they say they are. If you see something inappropriate turn of your device. Never give out your passwords. Don’t befriend people you don’t know. Keep your privacy settings as high as possible. The internet is amazing and is changing all the time. But how do we make sure we stay safe? Think carefully about what you say before posting it online. Don’t meet people you’ve met online. Respect other peoples views. Don’t post personal information online. Think before posting videos or pictures online once it’s there it’s not yours anymore. (www.safetynet.org.uk)

Thanks for looking at my project hope you enjoyed it.
