Elm Wood School Council Achievements 2016 -2017

Playground Equipment Each Pupil Council member asked their class what equipment they wanted in their playground boxes. The council compared the lists to find out which equipment was most needed. We purchased tennis balls.

Poppy Appeal The Pupil Council and Ambassadors sold poppies on the junior and infant playgrounds in support of the poppy appeal. We raised £284.20

Christmas Stalls We set up stalls on the infant and junior playgrounds. We sold: cakes, books, toys, sweets and we held a guess the teddy's name competition. We raised £319.74 for the school.

Christmas Jumper Day We took part in Christmas Jumper Day and all the children came dressed in their Christmas jumpers. We raised £328.96 for Save The Children.

Trip to Rochdale Town Hall The School Council visited Rochdale Town Hall to see how a real Council is run.

Easter egg competition The pupils of Elm Wood took part in the egg competition and designed their own Easter eggs. One of the governors Mr. Barber and a lady from Springhill Hospice came in to judge the entries. Winners received a bag of Easter goodies!

Easter egg raffle We held an Easter egg raffle, it was 20p for one ticket or 50p for a strip. Winners received an Easter egg as a prize.

Million Pennies Challenge We are currently raising money for Springhill Hospice by participating in the Million Pennies Challenge. Pupils are donating any spare 1ps’ they can find at home. The class that raises the most money will win a prize. Next week we are having stalls on the infant and junior playgrounds. We will be selling: Cakes, Books (in good condition) and Cards
