Brief Course Outline 1. Introduction: Signals and Systems? Discussion on basic tools for analyzing signals and systems. 2. Description of signals and Transformation: Some generic signals, like delta function, continuous and discrete complex exponentials. 3. System Representation: Linear, causal, time-invariant systems. Convolution representation, differential and difference equation representation and state variable representation. 4. Transforms: Laplace and Fourier transform

Continuous-time: Response of continuous-time linear time-invariant system to complex exponential, Fourier representation of signals and systems, frequency response of linear time-invariant systems. 6. Discrete-time: Sampling theorem, discrete-time Fourier transform, discrete Fourier transform. 7. Time Permitting: Fast Fourier transform. Z-transform
