Fundraising For Education October BTBR- I Am Malala

What? For my October BTBR I read I am Malala and for my project I would like to fundraise for women and girls education. Anyone who would participate is greatly appreciated. we will be sending the money we will raise to Me to We Charity. Who is Malala? Malala is an activist for education. In 2012, she was on the bus to school when the Taliban shot in the forehead for being a girl and going to school. She wrote her autobiography in 2013. Malala is a strong and amazing woman.

How? Since our whole class does band I was thinking to have people pledge you money for practicing 15 minutes per day, so if someone pledged you 5 dollars to practice for 15 minutes you would practice, collect the money and hand it in to me. If you would like to join in I will be posting a sign up sheet and whoever participates gets their name in a draw for a 10 dollar certificate for Indigo.

Why? Education is something we take for granted here in Canada, but in many countries people (especially women and girls) struggle to be able read, write or go to school. By fundraising we can help to buy supplies or go towards build a school. Making a difference in our world is so amazing and if you choose to help you are making that difference.

When? This project will take place through November. The fundraiser will start October 25 and finish November 30.
