Language Arts (Phonics and Vocabulary) Letters of the week: HW Q1 #2 Name: _____________________ Practice handwriting of the uppercase and lowercase letters using Rainbow Writing. Only capitalize the 1st letter). Draw or find pictures that start with the letters in your name in the format of a mind map. Dictate the following words to your child. Have them write the sounds they hear. It does not have to be spelled correctly! **Challenge: Sound spell sentences using these words. cot 2. tag 3. dog

Name: _____________________ Math We are practicing showing numbers in different ways. Let’s look at the number 8!   Name: _____________________ Parents, please draw the following ten frame in the paper. Have your child draw 8 dots in the ten frame. Show 8 objects in a row (ie. stickers, glue beans, drawing, or photo). Rainbow write the number 8, 8 times.

Name: _____________________ High Frequency Words   New HFW: have, one Name: _____________________ Choose 4 of the High Frequency Words/Key Words we have earned so far and write them on index cards. You will need 2 cards for each word. Play memory matching with your child and have them practice saying each word as they flip it over. Tell me who won! Play tic-tac-toe with two of the high frequency words of the week. Player 1 writes one word and Play 2 writes the other words. Just like X’s and O’s. Play on the paper. --------------------------- WEEKLY PRACTICE WITH PARENT Read the weekly sight word poem, I Have One, sent home with your child. Have your child practice reading the poem every night and highlight the sight words. Add it to your sight word poem book at home. (Does not need to be turned in).
