SEMINAR 1. Title : Physics in contacts between probes and quantum world 2. Speaker : Myung-Ho Bae (Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science) 3. Time : 16:00 – 17:00, Thursday, March 02, 2017 4. Place : e+ Lecture Hall (room 83188), 2nd Research Building, Sungkyunkwan University 5. Summary : Interaction or coupling between charge reservoir and a quantum system has been an important issue in a mesoscopic system such as a quantum dot. By manipulation of the coupling intensity, one can observe fundamental quantum physics from an individual particle to a many-body effect. In my talk, I will present coherent phenomena and many-body features observed in a quantum-dot system, so-called an artificial atom. I will also partly introduce a quantum metrology based on quantum phenomena in mesoscopic physics. 6 Background : Education 2006. 8 Ph.
