Outline Introduction Methods Data Consolidation Projecting Data Points Changing the projection Pop-up Windows Results Conclusions Questions Tyson

Introduction Bureau of Reclamation did not have a unified bridge database They needed all their bridge data consolidated into a single file Created an interactive map showing pictures and bridge classification data Provide a geodatabase that can be used for inspection and maintenance Jake

Methods Consolidated 41 gigs of information to a single, usable dataset Converted that information into a table in ArcMap Found the right coordinate system to use Projected the x,y coordinates from the table onto the map Changed the projection display Added key information and Picture Pop-up Window Jake

Data Consolidation CHALLENGES Sorting through data to make a master spreadsheet of all bridges Missing information Figuring out which pictures were of which bridge Tyson

Coordinate System and projection in x,y coordinates An appropriate coordinate system was found through trial and error Bridge coordinates provided in degrees, minutes, seconds Coordinates were converted to decimal degrees in Excel and imported into ArcMap Latitude and longitude coordinates plotted using X,Y data plotting tool Some of the geographic coordinates were obviously incorrect so they were corrected as necessary (e.g. inverted numbers, missing negative, etc.) Jake

Changed the projection display Roman

POP UP WINDOW Using the pop up tool. Enable pop up Select objects with Jared

POP UP WINDOW 2. Add attachments to the objects Enable attachments Create a match table Add attachments Jared

Additional Information Instructions on how to add or alter information Instructions on how to reproject bridge locations Roman

Results Interactive GIS Database with easily accessible information Simplified instructions to update or add the the database Jared

Conclusions Took and consolidated the data Put it into a database to make the data easier to utilize Provided instructions so they can continue to build on our database Jared
