Laura Numeroff wrote all of the “ If You Give A Books. Laura is famous for her great animal stories. Her characters like pig and mouse are now celebrities themselves.

More About Laura Laura has loved books since she was a little girl. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her mom was a teacher and dad worked for a newspaper. She has two older sisters. She started writing and illustrating when she was your age.

How she became a writer Even though she loved reading and writing she didn’t always want to be an author. She first went to college to be a fashion designer, but she didn’t like it. In college she wrote and illustrated a book and decided that was what she wanted to do. Her first book was rejected four times before it got published.
