A. Portfolios What Is a Portfolio? A portfolio is a collection of student work that exhibits the student's efforts, progress, and achievements in one or more areas of the curriculum. The collection must include the following: Student participation in selecting contents. Criteria for selection. Criteria for judging merits. Evidence of a student's self-reflection. CMagno

A. Portfolios Why Use a Portfolio? Encouraging self-directed learning. Enlarging the view of what is learned. Demonstrating progress. Creating an intersection for instruction and assessment. Providing a way for students to value themselves as learners. CMagno

A. Portfolios –examples… Drawing Photography Design or project work that demonstrates originality and problem solving capabilities. Visual and written documentation 2D or 3D design project Design related work from another discipline Group based work, etc. CMagno

B. Presentation boards Presentation boards are commonly used in work places or schools to display information. They are easy to create and can be customized to match the environment they will be displayed in. How to create an efficient board: Create a catchy headline. This will depend on the topic of your presentation board. A question or fact can be more attention-grabbing, however. Your headline will need to be quite large to be readable from a distance. Decide on information to include. What you choose will depend on the purpose of your board. For a school, you could display children's work on the topic, or information from a textbook. For work, referenced material on the topic may be more appropriate. CMagno

C. Models Interior 3d models and exterior 3d models can be displayed as individual images or as a short movie. It depends on you which method you want to view your future building. Architectural 3D Modeling has brought new revolution in architect industry. It allows us to view upcoming buildings like residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and special buildings like sky scrapers. Architectural 3d modeling services include the following. • 3D Interior Models • 3D Exterior Models • 3D Furniture Models • 3D Product Models CMagno

D. Drawings and Renderings Rendering can become part of the drawing, but a drawing doesn’t need rendering in order to work. CMagno

A Three-Step Process CMagno            I used a Sanford Col-erase red pencil on trace to block out this scene of a community ball field. The pencil mockup was reviewed and approved by my client CMagno

Rendering Use: Pen & ink, water color or CAD software to make the rendering. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQIUM_c4WcI - manual rendering 10 min. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRQ3OqVqCe4 – 10minutes chair http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZVXiBvTu08 – rendering tree with colored pencils CMagno
