VPPM (Variable PPM) Technology Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Sep 2014 VPPM (Variable PPM) Technology Included in IEEE 802.15.7 Appropriate for dimming control during digital data transmission Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

Demodulation Scheme of VPPM Using Correlation Mask Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Sep 2014 Demodulation Scheme of VPPM Using Correlation Mask Brightness is measured in the first stage of the receiver Mask-1 and Mask-0 are made in real time and used for correlation receiver Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

Demodulation Procedure of VPPM Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Sep 2014 Demodulation Procedure of VPPM Shows the signal at each part of the figure in previous page Data is recovered from each VPPM signal with one-bit delay Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

Experiment Results of VPPM Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Jan 2014 Experiment Results of VPPM Experiment using Photodiode was performed with 70% brightness Transmitted data d(t) is well recoverd using the proposed scheme Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

Experiment Results of VPPM Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Jan 2014 Experiment Results of VPPM 15 Watt LED, PD with active area 13.0mm×13.0mm Best performance observed at 50% brightness Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

VPPM for Optical Camera Communications Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Sep 2014 VPPM for Optical Camera Communications Scan line of image sensor using Rolling Shutter Scan-line width varies with dimming of VPPM modulated data Signal transmission is possible regardless of LED dimming Same demodulation scheme, correlation-based receiver, also can be used in OCC Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech.

September 2009doc.: IEEE 802.15-09-0117-00-0007 9/12/2018<month year> Doc: IEEE 802-15-14-0540-00-007a Sep 2014 Conclusion In this submission, we propose a VPPM demodulation scheme using correlation mask. Transmission was successful with LED and photodiode regardless of dimming level; however, best performance was achieved at 50% brightness. The same correlation-based demodulaton can be applied to optical camera communication. Jaesang Cha, Seoul National Univ. of Science&Tech. <author>, <company>
