WELCOME TO Middle School GRADE LA At all times you are to put your best foot forward…

What YOU can expect Expect to complete a fix-it sentence or focus question each time you enter the classroom Expect to complete your monthly journal prompts and all homework/projects in a timely manner ….remember prompts can be worked on during those “down times” Expect to work cooperatively and with a positive attitude Expect to place all completed and unfinished classroom assignments in designated bin Expect to head each paper as follows: Name/class Date Assignment

Expect to enter and exit the classroom quietly Expect to bring in all books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave Expect to quiet down when I raise my hand Expect to raise your hand holding up 3 fingers when you need to use the bathroom…try to use the bathroom during break and lunch Expect to sign in and out using the “bathroom log” Expect to pack up when I dismiss you Expect to make all question related to LA…if the question is off-topic write it down and ask it to me at a later time Expect this classroom to be a no whining zone

What I can expect Expect all students to be courteous at all times Expect that all students cooperate Expect that all students take responsibility for their actions… Expect all students to work in a timely manner Expect all students to follow class rules Expect that all students have a great learning experience

Highlighted School Policies Uniforms GIRLS: Skirt lengths: No more than 3” above knee! No eye makeup; stud earrings only! Clear nail polish only! Girls Uniform Shoes: Bucks, Loafers, Mary Janes (Black), Boat shoes or Oxfords. Shoes must be either brown or black. No prints, sequins, or sparkles allowed. BOYS: hair length: Must have collar, ears, and eyes showing. Boys Uniform Shoes: Solid brown or black shoes: Bucks, Mocs, or Loafers. Shirts tucked in;

4. Improper behavior in common areas (cafeteria, playground, AAC) Demerits A system of demerits is also enforced at St. Leo’s. Students may receive demerits (0-5) for the following reasons: 3 DEMERITS RESULT IN A DETENTION 1. Being out of uniform. Students are expected to look clean and neat. (i.e. shirts tucked in, proper skirt length) 2. Chewing gum in school. 3. Eating or taking food or drink outside of the cafeteria. This includes water bottles 4. Improper behavior in common areas (cafeteria, playground, AAC) 5. Purposeful disregard for property. 6. Lateness to class 7. Failure to pick up after oneself in the classroom/cafeteria 8. *Hair must be neat and combed. 9. Inappropriate language 10. Inappropriate or unkind behavior toward another student
