Creating a new role Prior to creating a role, you will need to map out the purpose of the role. Under setup, the roles list page will display role name, description and number of users that are assigned to the role.
Creating a new role “Save As” option available
Rooms Permissions Available by building/room or by region. Multiple combinations permitted…must be in same group. Schedule Rooms and Request Rooms are important features that if not configured correctly can cause issues in application.
Academic section permissions Academic Sections Permissions Academic section permissions The majority of users will only View Sections. Deleting of sections is usually handled in your SIS. Manage Terms is needed to create terms for SIS import set-up. Preference Sets may also be managed by your main Scheduler(s).
Events Permissions Can be filtered out by customer group and/or event type. The majority of users will need the ability to view events. A best practice is to narrow this permission only to those Event Request Forms over which this User can request events.
Resources/Services Permissions Can be filtered out by category, resource type or group. It’s possible to allow Event Requestors and Schedulers to request equipment campus-wide but limit who may schedule (approve) the actual equipment.
Calendars Permissions Can be filtered out by single or calendar names.
Reports Permissions Can be filtered out by report groups. Allows users to view reports within limits of role such as those found under Room Permissions.
