TAP Third Party Vendor Network Information for potential vendors in Santa Monica December 2017

TAP Third Party Vendor (TPV) Network TAP is used amongst 24 different transit agencies 411 vendors throughout LA County Types of vendors include: chain supermarkets, check cashing, convenience stores, schools, and municipal offices There are currently 4 TAP Vendors in Santa Monica 14 vendors in the network offer BBB products to customers December 2017

TAP Vendor Network Opportunities TAP vendors provide riders with more convenient and widespread access to fare products Easier access to TAP can promote regional connectivity between BBB and 23 other transit agencies in the county Upcoming system changes will result in a higher demand for vendors: Transfer on 2nd Boarding : riders will be able to transfer between transit agencies using a TAP card (cash will not be accepted) Addition of new rail lines as a result of Measure M Bus tokens are being phased out December 2017

TAP Vendor Network Requirements Potential vendors must have at least one year in business New locations must be at least .5 miles away from existing vendors or TVMs A dedicated analog phone line is required for each CPOS device Each potential vendor must be willing to undergo a credit evaluation December 2017

TAP Vendor Network Benefits Providing this service can attract more foot traffic to businesses Santa Monica is in high demand for more TAP vendors Vendors get free advertising on TAP’s printed directory in all Metro buses and on taptogo.net TAP marketing materials package Receive a commission of 3.5% of weekly gross sales December 2017

TAP Vendor Network Costs There are minimal costs as a TAP Vendor Vendor will need to install an analog phone line, if they do not already have one Price of phone line will vary, depending on provider TAP cards can be ordered from Metro and re-sold at vendor locations at face value ($2) CPOS device is free of charge Free to install or cancel Training and operating manual is given upon installation of the device Free access to Cubic technicians for CPOS maintenance December 2017
