Presentation transcript:

“Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich…” Psa 49:16a

“…when the glory of his house is increased.” Psa 49:16b

“For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.” Psa 49:17

“Though while he lives he congratulates himself, and though men praise you when you do well for yourself…” Psa 49:18

“…he shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see the light.” Psa 49:19

“Man in his pomp, yet without understanding, is like the beasts that perish.” Psa 49:20

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Mt 6:19-21

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Mt 6:33

But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. 1 Tim 6:6-8

For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang. 1 Tim 6:10

Contentment…Refraining from envy are learned abilities. They will not come naturally. If you’re a child of God, you have all you need. If you’re not a child of God, you don’t have what is most important.

Our goal in worship is to… …render to God the praise He is due …thank Christ for what He did …teach & admonish one another …remind each other of what really matters
