What matters to people living with dementia? Being at home Staying connected with family and friends Feeling valued and that they are contributing to society Getting out and about Feeling as independent as possible Feeling safe and secure Having a meaningful life Ordinary everyday living

Some ideas for technology Being at home – environmental controls (e.g. Hive, My Lively), Amazon Echo, Smart TV Staying connected family and friends – social media, SmartPhone, email, Facetime, Skype Getting out and about – GPS, sat navs, mobile phone Feeling safe and secure – alarms, telecare solutions, cooker cut-off, mobile phone Being independent – apps, low tech ADL solutions, electronic diary Keeping well – telehealth, wearables, wellbeing apps, RFID medicine cabinet Feeling valued, making a contribution – being on-line, social media, digital participation Having choice – apps, internet, access to info Life Story/reminiscence – apps, tablets, internet, digital photo frames
