Compound-Complex Sentences

What is a Compound-Complex Sentence? It is a Sentence which is made up of 2 independent clauses and 1 depend

Examples 1. John went to school, but James remained at home because he was sick. Independent Clause Independent Clause Dependent Clause

Since we had gone only a mile, we could return before dark, and we would not become lost. Dependent Clause

More Examples: State the independent and dependent clauses. After the tornado had hit, my house was gone, but my neighbor's house was not touched. I usually use a pick whenever I play the guitar, or I just use my fingers.

Add the missing independent clause Even though she is leaving, we decided to stay at the hotel, _________________________________________________________. I packed my suitcase since I am going on vacation, __________________________________________________________. Because it is my birthday, my cousins are coming to town, __________________________________________________________.
