Presentation transcript:

Figure Legend: From: Fixations on low-resolution images Journal of Vision. 2011;11(4):14. doi:10.1167/11.4.14 Figure Legend: Modeling visual acuity falloff. The images on the right simulate the acuity falloff of the human visual system given a fixation at the center of the image. They have high resolution (512 pixels or 16 cycles per degree) at the center and low resolution (64 pixels or 2 cycles per degree) on the edge. They should be seen so that they extend 30 degrees of visual angle. If they are printed on a paper at 3 inches wide, they should be viewed about 6 inches away.
