DISSEMINATION METHODS/TOOLS Annual revision of dissemination lists Resort to various entry points for different audiences using different channels. For e.g., for UNRISD publications: Publish pdf Prepare 2 pages briefs For each chapter make a short video with key messages Start blog series on a particular topic of the publication. Link publication to the Entity’s projects/programs Publish e-bulletins on the publication. Publish short catchy titles of publication on social media platforms

Dissemination Methods/Tools Continued … Dissemination Methods/Tools Improve/Maintain the YPT website on the Top of search engine results pages Promote the YPT products on Social Media Platforms; Provide the YPT in different languages (Eng., Fr., Ar.) Embed the YPT link in the RCs official websites by a customized and animated button Embed the YPT link in Partners’ websites by a simple link or a customized button. Ensure full round-up of news, events and publications to keep audience up-to-date with what’s happening at the three RCs and trigger visits to YPT.

Dissemination Methods/Tools Continued … Dissemination Methods/Tools Agree with relevant Influencers to endorse & promote the YPT on their Social Media Accounts & through Agreed-upon Media Appearances; Include Short Videos highlighting Key messages and Findings of Major outputs. Introduce new features to the YPT website Enrich Toolbox with digital material, such as Infographics, GIFs, Flyers, Animations, USBs and Interactive CDs  Help YPT Branding purposes. Create dedicated blogs and/or TED Talks and/or Meetup sessions on major Youth issues and upload them on YPT Create E-Forum on the YPT = Provide a platform for discussion for youth on youth priority areas

Dissemination Methods/Tools Continued … Dissemination Methods/Tools Organize Webex sessions to promote the YPT resources within and outside the UN System globally; Build Structured Partnerships with the Academia and other Think Tanks (through MoUs) to: ensure access to YPT resources from their “virtual libraries”; add/place the Toolbox icon on their websites; disseminate the YPT to their databases and users. Build Partnerships with Schools and Educational programs Use Official Meetings, Launching Events & other Conferences to advocate for the YPT and disseminate its resources

Dissemination Methods/Tools Continued … Dissemination Methods/Tools Involve the Information and Communication Units/ICUs in each RC in the dissemination process Use RCs staff appearances in specific shows to advocate for the YPT and promote its content; Issue press releases about the YPT and its various channels and content. Develop an Android or Apple Application for smart phones (available on Google Play and Apple Store); Paid advertising on Google to increase visibility of the Toolbox to appear in the top 10 results when searching for youth related repository.

EVALUATING SUCCESS OF DISSEMINATION Evaluating the success of the dissemination is an iterative process. Dissemination = a long-term relationship with the YPT end-users  ongoing feedback to improve YPT. Constant examination of the Toolbox to avoid conflicts of interest and ensure effective monitoring Include survey of the YPT effectiveness. Embed statistical tables of users and no. of downloads Encourage end-users to share new good practices (quality control by administrator, and based on template)

ESCWA Participants Recommendations Continued … ESCWA Participants Recommendations Undertake ‘monthly’ survey to measure effectiveness, relevance and usefulness of YPT Use YPT to advocate for Youth NGOs’ national campaigns/high-level events. Provide ‘Mentors’ on the YPT to respond to Youth questions/concerns Create further incentives for youth to visit the Toolbox Provide discussion platform for regional experience and knowledge sharing
