SCIENCE RESEARCH PAPER WRITING 7TH GRADE

Once I start researching my topic, what do I do with the information? STEP 1: After you have printed out a valuable piece of information about your topic, read it, & annotate it for important information.

*Do not use and PERSONAL PRONOUNS (I, we, they)* How will we write this paper once we’ve finished researching and gathering our sources? INTRODUCTION: State your question/problem statement “What is the relationship between X & Y?” Explain why you picked this questions and why it is important to you or other people. Thesis (hypothesis) statement stating the topic, presenting your findings and supporting your hypothesis. (If, then, because) *Do not use and PERSONAL PRONOUNS (I, we, they)*

BODY PARAGRAPH(S) 1st Body Paragraph Summarize historical information about your problem statement (topic). *****This should be research based & cited. Explain how this research helps you answer your question from the introduction.

BODY PARAGRAPH(S) 2nd Body Paragraph Summarize and explain interesting facts you discovered about your topic. *****This should be research based & cited. Explain how this research helps answer your question.

BODY PARAGRAPH(S) 3rd Body Paragraph Talk about previous studies that have been done. If no other studies have been done, talk about the important concepts that deal with your topic. ****This should be research based and cited. Summarize the facts from your research that lead you to your hypothesis.

CONCLUSION PARAGRAPH Summarize the main points you researched as well as restate your problem statement (question). DO NOT ADD any additional information or cite information from your resources. 2. Restate your hypothesis.
