Treating Mental Disorders and Where to Find Help By: Chenelle Thompson Period 2

Treating Mental Disorders Mental disorders usually affect teens and adults. Ignoring the fact that you have a mental disorder you can get help. Not getting help can lead to other symptoms. Finding help in your community can help cure your disorder.

Main Idea The main idea of my section is having mental disorders and how they can be treated and where to find help.

Details The symptoms of a mental disorder are sudden radical change in personality, self-destructive, behaviors, feelings , and abnormal thoughts. Mental disorder is an illness that affects the mind.

Details Continued Which reduces a person’s ability to function to get along with others. Sometimes people don’t recognize the signs of a mental disorder or they may have been told that with will power alone, they can overcome the problem .

Details Continued An example of a mental disorder Lucy has a personality disorder so her behaviors change a lot and so does her interpretation to situations.

Example Lisa always stayed in the house once she got home from school. Later her personality changed and she got very mean around people. Since her personality changed she started to fight people at school and became a bad influence. Lisa started to noticed but she never got help.

How Do You Feel About Topic? I think that this topic is very important and it relates to many teens and there struggle throughout there life. You can find help all over your community because there are many people that are in the same position as you. You can go to counseling, hospital, and mental health clinics.

Summary Treating Mental Disorders is about many adults and teens that are affected and not finding a treatment can change who you really are to other people. The best strategy is to get help in your community and become cured from the disorder.
