WHY SET GOALS?

Art

What arts topics and subjects have you worked with in the past? Did you take classes, train, learn yourself?  (Music, dance, drama and visual art, photography, film, graphics, fashion, illustration, jewellery, ceramics....etc.) I have done a lot. Music, theatre, art., but mostly at school for sometime I studied music If you could become good at the arts, what would it be?  Right now I would like to develop in painting, because if you are good at painting, you would easily be able to make a bad drawing an amazing painting, but if the painting isn’t good it makes the art piece look bad.

In the ARTS you have 4 criteria. Which are you best at? Why? A. Knowledge and Understanding B. Developing Skills C. Creative Thinking D. Responding. In the ARTS you have 4 criteria. Which are you best at?  Why? I am best at B: Developing skills, because this is wear I actually have to think of my final piece and I find this easy for me to do, because a lot of ideas normally flood my brain, and the hard part is picking the final one I will go with. Which of these criteria would you like to be better at?  (this could be media specific...''I want to learn to use...'') Well. I want to get better at, focusing my paint brush strokes, mainly because when I look at old art when you are far away it looks good, but as you move closer you see each and every single brush stroke and that’s when I start to apricate work, when I can see every single detail. What will you do to become better?  I need to start with a simple method. So I will start by watching videos and tutorials and trying some in my book.

Arts Goals Mood Board This is what I can do now – digital process Create a MOOD BOARD that shows what you would like to get better at. This is what I can do now – digital process This is what I would like to do someday: What Can I Do to Follow My Idea? This is what I can do, on my own to get better at my interest. This is a salt print project I found on line. I could try it. What can I do For Class? I can start taking photography notes for each of my unit projects.

WHAT KIND OF PLAN?

My Arts Goal is: What SKILL/DISCIPLINE do you want to improve? My paint brush strokes so that I can make my paintings look better. Which Criteria fits? Criterion C. Creative Thinking Where will you show the development? (Process Journal, Blog, Projects, tasks, organization, exhibition, performance?) Process journal, and my art work How can I practice and do the work? In class I can use the brushes to figure out different techniques in my process journal so that I can see which looks best, through watching videos and other artists. How will this help me improve my work? Watching tutorials and trail and error Where can I use this skill or discipline in other subjects? Science When do I expect to check my progress? By December I will: Be able to understand brush strokes and how to make my art good (By March I will:) I would have made one of my art pieces, with the techniques of paint brushed to see each stroke This year I want to set the goal to: Improving my grades in criteria C to a 5-6, I will keep track of this by checking my grades on managebac, and I will also be taking in feebback from Ms. Moore
