There’s A Skeleton in God’s Closet

There’s A Skeleton in God’s Closet John 20:1-10 Early on Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 2She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, “They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!” 3Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.

There’s A Skeleton in God’s Closet 5He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in.6Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— 9for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. 10Then they went home. John 20:1-10

Here’s what the world would look like: 1) There would be no real, lasting, non-discriminating hope in the world. 2) The religions of the world would be at war devouring one another. 3) There would be no fair system of law and jurisprudence. 4) There would be no hospital system like we have. 5) The status of women would be more like Muslim countries. 6) Religious nuts would rule the world. 7) There would be no Jesus and no salvation. 8) You would be lost and separated from God forever.

But, that’s not what happened 1) Yes, Jesus did die and was buried 2) For three days He was in the grave 3) But arose from the dead 4) All they had to do was produce a dead body 5) But now, there is this reason able facsimile of Jesus walking around 6) Many saw Him

Here’s what happened to the world 1) People’s lives were changed immediately 2) People willingly laid down their lives because of Him 3) Real hope came to the world 4) A worldwide movement called the “church” began 5) A war began against Jesus followers 6) World history changed 7) Everything changed

Here’s what can happen in your life 1) Jesus is risen from the dead and He wants you 2) He is knocking at your door 3) Isn’t it time to answer the door? 4) He loves you and has a plan for your life 5) He died for you 6) He arose for you 7) He’s coming again for you 8) Isn’t it time to answer His call 9) You can say “YES” to Jesus today But …!!!???? Jesus will not barge into your life. Only you can open the door.
