COURSE OUTCOMES Document Creation A.1. Prepare a Research Paper--Word Students will use current software to produce correctly formatted research papers with an accepted academic reference format such as MLA or APA.  A.2. Prepare Employment Documents--Word Students will use current software/technology to produce effective employment documents such as a resume and a cover letter.  A.3. Document Collaboration—Google Docs/Word Students will be able to use multiple collaboration mediums to effectively share, communicate, and collaborate with their peers.

COURSE OUTCOMES Content, Internet Identity, and Device Management B.1. Content and File Management Students will use current software/technology to manage content on local devices and in the cloud.  B.2. Internet Identity Management Students will manage their web identity and presence according to e-safety, security, and privacy best practices and standards.  B.3. Device Management and Security Students will manipulate multiple computing platforms and troubleshoot problems when they arise. Students will protect local devices from security threats including viruses, malware, and adware using current best practices and technologies.

COURSE OUTCOMES Data Manipulation, Visualization, and Presentation C.1. Data Manipulation--Excel Students will manipulate and analyze data using various software applications and basic programming.  C.2. Data Visualization--PowerPoint Students will organize data using various graphical methods such as charts and infographics to appropriately convey information.  C.3. Data Presentation--PowerPoint Students will create an effective, well-designed presentation using current technologies.

CLASS PROCEDURES HOMEWORK UNIT EXAMS Due on dates listed Homework must be submitted through Canvas Homework handed in late will result in a loss of 20% of the possible points for that assignment Homework will be graded ONCE UNIT EXAMS Unit Exams will be taken in the Computer Literacy Center, EH311 Late tests will lose 20% Late tests must be taken in Computer Literacy Center (Room EH311) during the regular lab hours within one week of scheduled test

HOMEWORK Once the unit test date is reached, assignments on that unit will not be accepted. Grade= “0” Each assignment is listed under the outcome module Each homework assignment is to be submitted electronically through Canvas Due dates are indicated on the homework guide sheet (and in canvas modules) Once the unit test date is reached, assignments on that unit will not be accepted. Grade= “0” Homework assignments are graded only once; you cannot resubmit an assignment with corrections. Sharing an assignment results in sharing of the earned “0”.

SCHOOL OF COMPUTING POLICIES Any test taken late will take a 20% grade reduction. Late tests must be taken within one week of the test date. No food or drink allowed in the Computer Literacy Center. Copyrighted material is NOT to be reproduced or downloaded without permission of author. Students are expected to complete their own work. A small amount of extra credit will be available at end of semester.

LAB POLICIES Students are expected to act professionally and to respect fellow students. According to the WSU student code, students agree to avoid unethical, wasteful, and/or inappropriate use of any computer. Cell phones, pagers, or other personal communication devices are to be silenced or turned off during lab time—this includes iPods. These devices cannot be used during testing.
