ROYAL MONCADA’S CANAL It’s one of the oldest systems of watering in Spain. It is more than 800 years old and its water comes from the River Turia. This canal is 33 km. long and it goes from Paterna toPuçol It’s used for watermills and for watering one part of the fertile region of Valencia and for watering trees.

VISIT TO THE COMMUNE HOUSE OF THE MONCADA’S ROYAL CANAL It was founded by King James 1st in 1268 and it was rebuilt in1953. Its main aim is to organize the smooth running and coordination of the watering in the whole area. This organization is presided over by the president of the canal and twelve “síndics” (members of the Administration board). They have a meeting once a month. In this house there are courts of the reports of the farmers. Everything is oral as in the Valencia’a water court.
