In LS1: installation of 3 quad +12 dipoles= 15 , started in March What do we learned for the future coating of the entire machine or a sextant ? Very rough estimate for the SPS coating in one LS(2 or 3): -displace coat and reposition more than 750 magnets and related RF shields in 12 months =15/week ! -in LS1 we first coated the magnets at a slow pace, which was compatible with other coating works, and later we transported and installed them. In the real case it will be a continuous process, «all in series». There is a lot of space for improvements

Main issues encountered during LS1 and necessary improvements: -Safe truck transport (for the magnets) , bellow protection: in the «real case» it is not sure that we will have truck transport -Safe bellow protection during intermediate and temporary pump-down: design suitable devices to quickly block the bellow must be designed -chambers misaligned in the quad: difficult or impossible to install: quality control before positioning -pinch-offs for temporary storage or pump-down not always tight: quality control and precise pressure filling -coating of the RF shielding: it is time consuming to dismount/remount and identify the shileds; investigate if it is possible to coat with mounted shields; we had also some issues with peel-off so that we needed to repeat the coating -manpower: in LS1 there were a lot of non-foreseen activities in parallel; we can evaluate the needs with more knowledge now -infrastructure: 10 extra pumping groups are necessary for installation (leak detection, pump-down,..) -contingency: include some percentage of failures in the planning
