Absolutism in Europe

Quickwrite Absolute monarchs were kings or queens that held all power within their state’s boundaries. They justified their power through divine right, the idea that God created the monarchy. Their goal was to control every aspect of society (economy, politics, society). In other words, they controlled the ways of your life. In half a page please answer the following questions: What are the benefits and drawbacks of having an absolute ruler? What might people gain from having a ruler whose power is total, or absolute? From time to time your parents have played the role of an absolute ruler in your home, what have your gained and lost from the strict directions of your parents?
