Scripture
Alleluia is a word of praise and joy, normally we sing Alleluia during Mass to express the happiness we feel as we wait for the words of the Gospel. During Lent we NEVER sing Alleluia because we remember the sadness and darkness of Jesus being crucified on the Cross.
On a sheet of A4 paper, write the word , Alleluia, make it really colourful and bright
Fold your paper over and over until it’s really small and put them in a box in your classroom, and hide them in a dark place to be opened up and displayed in your form rooms when we return at Easter. This will help us to remember the darkness of Lent and the brightness we will experience at Easter when Jesus will rise from the dead.
Put a note in your organiser to remind you to take out and display your beautiful Alleluia's when we return to school after Easter.
Lord Jesus, Please help us to stay strong during the coming days of Lent just as Jesus stayed strong during his time of fasting and temptation in the desert. Amen
