TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF KOSICE FACULTY OF AERONAUTICS DEPARTMENT OF AVIONICS Measurements in anechoic chambers 5th International Scientific Conference of Ph.D. Students and Young Scientists and Researchers Author: Ing. Martin Krchňák Leader: doc. Ing. Ján Labun, PhD. Kosice, May 2016

Content of presentation Main object of thesis Measurement of parameters of antennas Common system of anechoic chambers New system of chamber Comparision of systems Conclusion

Main object of thesis Main object of PhD thesis : Build up new system for measuring directional parameters of antennas in laboratory enviroment. Results should be adequate to standard system for measuring in RF anechoic chambers.

Measurement of parameters of antennas Main parameters of antenna Frequency range Impedance Power capabilities and many others.... Directional parameters radiation pattern Polarization and also many others....

Measurement of parameters of antennas Radiation pattern Must be measured in RF anechoic chamber for the best results Any reflection from objects cause lost of accuracy of results

Common system of anechoic chambers mean non-reflective, non-echoing is a room designed to completely absorb reflections of RF waves in designed frequency range

Common system of anechoic chambers Principle of anechoic chamber

New system of chamber Principle of new chamber Non-echo chamber is no needed New type of RF panel Receiving antenna receive only waves reflected from panel All other reflected waves from objects are „ignored“

Comparision of systems Standard chamber New type of chamber VERY expensive ultra cheap very precise we will see... need a special rooms in building or all building special rooms are no need for big organization only for everyone only for interior external or interior use

Conclusion Main object of PhD thesis : Build up new system for measuring directional parameters of antennas in laboratory enviroment. Expected results are very promising for lot of possible uses It can bring new and avaible system of measuring for all kind of people or organization This system is very cheap Allows to measure antennas in field with the best possible results
