Would you like to see the introduction of a ‘Technician Of The Year’ awarded through the university? Would you like to see the award per faculty or across the whole university? Do you think a ‘Technician of the year’ award will do a good job at raising technician visibility? Do you think an acknowledgement of good work is currently carried out? "What could we do as individuals and as a workforce to raise our profile within the University?" Michael Percival receives professional services Staff of the Year award

Raising Technician visibility We wanted to now what you thought… How do you think raising technician acknowledgement can be achieved? Did you know about the NUS teaching excellence awards? 37% Yes, 63% No A good proportion of people knew about this. Would you like to see the award per faculty or across the whole university? The majority preferred to see local recognition, within their own faculty .

Do you think a ‘Technician of the year’ award will do a good job at raising technician visibility? Again the majority feel this would be good at raising technician visibility across the university. Do you think an acknowledgement of good work is currently carried out? Its great to see that the majority do currently feel they are acknowledged for the work they do. Do you think an acknowledgement of good work should be highlighted in your PDR? Overwhelmingly this was thought to be a good idea, When asked if this currently happened, 80% felt it did.
