Operations Briefing 8/04/14 Mike Dillabough and Christy Jones SPN / SPK Operations Briefing 8/04/14 Mike Dillabough and Christy Jones

Water management takes into account travel time for water released from dams to pass downstream communities without flooding those communities. Travel time 6 to 7 days

Water Management Water management of a dam is usually based on mission(s) of a dam. Water supply, conservation pools, flood risk management, recreation, environmental. Water control manuals are used to ensure proper procedures are followed. Water control manuals can be changed, requires high level review. Deviations can be requested. CVD – Water control manual rule curve dictates volume of space retained for flood control (short term retention of water).
