CS Education in New Mexico Summary points- The enrollment numbers show that there are significant gaps in where CS is taught in NM. In any given year, less than 1% of students in NM are taking a CS course in high school The number of high schools that offer CS has remained relatively steady showing that there is not enough growth of the teachers that are willing to teach CS and schools that are willing to schedule CS classes. There are likely only 25-30 teachers in NM that are teaching CS in any given year, showing that there is an issue with capacity building in our schools.

Policy New law- make CS count toward graduation requirements Only current 9th graders are eligible Math- After a student shows competency in Algebra 2, the next math class can be a CS class.
