The Future of Pallet Wrapping PALLET-SOCK The Future of Pallet Wrapping

What is Pallet-sock? A universal, re-usable pallet covering. Stretchable fabric panels secures the pallet contents within the sock. Designed to eliminate the need for disposable packaging.

What is Pallet-sock made of? The non-elasticated elements are made from woven “big bag” polypropylene – such as used for bulk sand deliveries. The “Powernet” elasticated sections are made from woven nylon with 100% stretch.

How does Pallet-sock compare to stretch wrap? The polypropylene is 500 micron thick and woven. Stretch film ranges from 8 to 20 micron. The highest stretch film at 20 micron and using 4 wraps it’s still less than 20% of the thickness of pallet-sock! The elasticated “Powernet” panels are made from nylon 6 fabric which is an engineering thermoplastic.

How does the system work ? You specify to your supplier base. Decide with your supplier if you want to return via them or Pallet-sock. That’s it.

Why do you need it? Eliminate stretch wrap. 150000 Tonnes of stretch film packaging go to landfill every year. Landfill tax is £56/tonne and rising every year. They’ve got the auto industry and you’ll be next!! Bottom of the list for us cynics but you’ll be doing your bit to save the planet as well!!

Advantages of Pallet-sock IT COSTS YOU NOTHING – Supplier pays. BETTER CONTENT PROTECTION - Tougher than 10 layers of 20 micron stretch wrap. APPLY AND REMOVE IN LESS THAN A MINUTE SAVES LABOUR AND SPACE - No more sorting and baling plastic waste. IMPROVE H&S - No more Stanley knives. IMPROVES PALLET WASTAGE – No more cut pallet load contents. PACKAGING UNIFORMITY – Pallet-sock can carry your company logo. ENHANCES GREEN COMPANY CREDENTIALS – No waste at all is always better than re-cycling. NO DISPOSAL COSTS – Could keep small receivers under 50 tonnes. CAN BE USED INTERNALLY- On broken loads and re-palleting stock. CONTENTS OF PALLET CANNOT BE SEEN PAYS FOR ITSELF AFTER 12 TO 15 JOURNEYS - Projected life is a minimum of 50 journeys.

Disadvantages Warehouse people don’t like change, may fear loss of “income” from re-cycling. Not visually tamper proof.

PALLET-SOCK Secure Re-useable Cost effective Green

Conclusion The primary directive in packaging waste reduction is, if it’s possible, don’t use any – here’s your chance to do just that. ........................ and save money into the bargain.
