Go over questions about how to study culture. Discuss how these cultural groups affect their lives. Assessment Prompt 2: Students will make a list of 5 ways that cultural groups affect their lives. Discuss profile of Myanmar police, Afghani Taliban fighters, serial killers, etc. Assessment Prompt 3: Students will discuss other historical figures that influence our culture in tables and will present an example. 4. Why do families exist in cultures around the world? Families are the basic economic unit. Each member has a job to do which affects the rest of the family.

7. What is the difference between formal and informal education. Formal education is organized by age and/or ability and taught by a teacher in a school. Informal education is taught by family, friends, or mentors. This also includes information from the media. (T.V., radio, internet, ads, etc.)
