The Black Hole film analysis.

The opening shot The first shot that has been used is mid shot. The background has been distorted but you can tell that the location for the film is going to be a work office. This gives the impression that the film will be on a bored office worker as that is the main stereotype for people in this situation. The movement of the shot pans across the setting.

What does the establishing shot communicate? The shot has been used is an establishing shot. In the shot we see a miserable looking office worker which fits in with the stereotype. He is dressed very bland and he does not look very smart this fit in with the very boring office location. His body language suggests he is fed up with his job as he is not looking very enthusiastic with his job. The lighting is very hard which means that it shows that he is very board and shows the character in a negative light rather than making him look good.

What shots and sounds are used to establish the black hole as being special? The shots used on the black hole is a close up shot. It is doing this so the audience is focused on this as this is an important part of the story. The sound that are used when the black hole is shown is a light humming noise that is often associated with the audience that it is extraterrestrial. This immediately tells the audience that it is not an ordinary thing.

Shot analysis In this shot the character is starting to understand what the black hole does. His facial expressions show his shock and confusion with the black whole. In this part when he puts his hand in it and then takes it out he lets out a slight laugh, this shows his confusion with what is happening.

Shot analysis The close up shot is used mainly here to show the characters emotions. It is shown from a low angle to show that he has the power. In this shot the character is surprised at what the black hole can do. In this part of the film he is looking for something to do with the black hole and he has spotted something. His eyes are fixated on it. his facial expressions show his excitement at what he is going to do.

Shot analysis This shot shows the man knows what he is doing is wrong. You can tell by his facial expressions that he knows as he is constantly looking around to see if anyone can see him. In this part we see him pick up speed in what he is doing as he excited about what he can do with the black hole.

Shot analysis The shot that has been used is a mid shot, this shot allows the character to show off his emotions and his body language. In the shot the character starts to look more sinister and he has started to move a lot quicker so he is not caught. In the back ground a light is constantly flickering this is used to create a sense of tension and it increases he amount of tension in this scent. It is also used to show that the character is not a good character.

Shot analysis Now he is in the office the lighting has changed to a darker colour. This shows the character is going to be doing something he should be as darker lights suggests more sinister things are happening. His facial expressions of excitement have gone and now he looks more scared.
