Welcome to Our 4th Grade Adventure!

Wednesday Folders Planners Students will be recording their daily homework in their planner. These should be checked nightly. Our goal is to have students become more organized and therefore more successful. Klein ISD has a link which provides more information about this program. 1.Should be reviewed, signed, and returned by Thursday. 2.Weekly progress for academics and behavior 3.Please review graded papers with your child. Planners are available in the school store for $5

Dress Code from school handbook Shorts (“athletic attire,” walking or "Bermuda" type)/skirts/dresses are acceptable as long as they are mid-thigh or below. Bike shorts of any style or length, worn either as an outer or visible under garment, are prohibited. 2. Any low-cut, see-through, or backless dress, tank top, blouse, or shirt may not be worn to school. Straps on outer garments must be sufficiently wide to cover undergarments.

Birthday Celebrations 1. Encouraged to bring favors instead of food (in hopes of avoiding allergy issues) 2. School store has items available 3. Birthday invitations

Writing – Language Arts Spelling words are written in the planners each week. Word study menu activities are for students to practice at home. NO word study papers will be collected. Tests on Friday Writing- Most samples stay in the classroom. If you wish to view any work, you may schedule a time to meet with the writing teacher. Writing – Language Arts

Science - Math -Math will have more multi-step problems and higher level thinking. -Science/Math notebooks can be taken home to study with just please return the next day.

Reading - Social Studies Reading Homework is Monday – Thursday (30 minutes daily) Students keep track of reading in their planner. Library Day is: Tuesday STAR Reader Tests: 75 points https://newsela.com/ Newsela gives teachers countless ways to encourage not only more reading, but also more writing in all classrooms and content areas Reading Notebook – Stays at school. Social Studies Notebook stays at school – 4th grade focus will be on Texas history.
