Premier Pro Shaw STEM Lab-2016

Objectives After using Premier Pro you should be able to Navigate Premier Pro Explain different tools and features Describe the process it takes to make a movie Create your own movie(s)

Recording Equipment We have a video camera that you are able to use to create your own movie. It is in camera bag #4 A lot of the same expectations apply to it that are already expected of you for the regular cameras Use the hand/wrist strap Make sure it is turned off and put away properly You’re responsible for it Make sure the lens is covered when you are finished There is a switch near the front of the camera. If you take a few moments with the camera, you will become an expert at using it in no time!

Recording Equipment You are also able to use your own device or equipment. You must do this respectfully and without it being a distraction to our learning community. You must provide your own cord to connect your device to the computer. Whatever you do shoot with your own device, it must end up in Premier Pro in someway.

What you should know… Click the Premier Pro logo Complete the Create a Project and Import a Clip Tutorial This must be checked before moving on!

You are here! What you should know… After you’ve completed the Create a Project and Import a Clip Tutorial, it is a good idea to complete some of the other tutorials to help you understand Premier Pro The other tutorials can be found by clicking here. Highly recommended!

Equipment you may use We are fortunate to have a Chroma Key Studio (green screen) as well as professional grade lighting equipment. Click on the icon on the right for a great video on how to use the light equipment and all about Three Point Lighting.

Do It! After you’ve complete the tutorials from the previous slide, it’s time to make your own video! Your video may be about any topic, as long as it is school appropriate Your video must be about something-not just a “blooper reel” If you need help or have an idea on something you’d like to incorporate into your video, check back to the Adobe Premier Pro Support Center, there are a lot of resources there to help you

Questions/Research Take a screen shot of the Premier Pro workspace. Identify and explain at least five (5) of the tools or features you used in your movie. Formulate at least five (5) vocabulary words that you learned or came across while creating your masterpiece. Describe what three point lighting is and how to use it. What are the three different lights called? When should you use them? Etc.
