Young people who participate in the arts three days each week for a full year or more are: 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement 3 times more likely to be elected to class office 4 times more likely to participate in a math and science fair 3 times more likely to win an award for school attendance 4 times more likely to win an award for writing an essay or poem Source: Dr. Shirley Brice Heath, Stanford University for the Carnegie Foundation
Elementary Art 4 – 6 will receive 6 lessons from an art educator from a teaching artist who partners with Segerstrom Center for the Arts Family Art Nights at Schools PD for classroom teachers
Primary Grade Music 40 minute lesson every other week
Elementary Upper Grade Music Grade 4 – Beginning Strings and Voice Grade 5 - Intermediate Strings, Winds, and Voice Grade 6 - Advanced Strings, Advanced Winds, and Voice Funding from a grant from The Irvine Company. Additional support from IPSF.
Middle School All schools offer Music, Theatre, and Visual Art and Digital Media Art. Some schools offer different levels.
High Schools Offer courses in all five disciplines, including Music, Visual Art, Digital Media Art, Dance, and Theatre.
