Use of computers to represent real life situations Modelling Use of computers to represent real life situations

Hardware and Software Mainframe computer to run the model efficiently. Purpose built software Spreadsheet

Economic model Governments use this to see how much money could be raised by increasing taxes by varying amounts. They can also vary the amount spent on public services and see what effect this would have on the need to raise or decrease the tax rate.

Q 4, P No 50 How computer model could be used to manage finances

Prototype Prototypes are built to an exact scale for use in trials and testing. CAD (Computer Aided Design) software is used for virtual prototypes. CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software will be connected with CAD which will control the computer that is connected to special machines to produce a physical prototype. Video

Q c, P No 51

Climate Data collected from monitoring the climate are fed into a spreadsheet model where the variables will be changed to see what effect they will have on climate and for predictions about future climate.
