PubMed (http://www. ncbi. nlm. nih. gov/pubmed Look for MeSH Database In the Search Box, enter Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.

From the MeSH Database https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/68003922 Choose Diabetes Mellitus, Type 1. Choose the Subheadings genetics, immunology, virology and Restrict to MeSH Major Topic. Click on Add to search builder, click on Search PubMed.

Using filters on the PubMed results page Use the filters Clinical Trial, Core Clinical Journals and Child: birth – 18 years. Click on Show Additional Filters. Click on Journal Categories and Ages. Click Show.

New MeSH search Choose Glucagon. Clear the filters. From the drop down screen, choose MeSH.

Building a search within MeSH … After adding Glucagon as a major topic, enter insulin in the search box and click on search. After having chosen Insulin (one word) from the choices, make it major, add it to the search box with the default AND and click on Search PubMed.

Glucagon [Majr] AND Insulin [Majr] From the Search Results, on the right, under Find Related Data, choose BioSystems and click Find items. Look for Insulin secretion.

Return to PubMed From the drop down, choose OMIM – Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man. Enter IDDM in search box.
