Once Upon a time……..

Fairy Tales are children's stories about magical and imaginary beings and lands.

Where did Fairy Tales come from? Fairy tales are from stories that have been passed down for a long time. They are important because they teach us a lesson (truth about life) All cultures around the world have different fairy tales to reflect what they believe

What are some fairy tales that you would know? The Four Ingredients of a Fairy Tale 1st Ingredient: A Moral A Lesson the reader learns from the story Ci Moral From Cinderella: Good things happen to good people

Moral Beauty and The Beast The Moral is: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

2nd Ingredient of a Fairy Tale Characters you remember (memorable) They must be someone the audience can relate to Cinderella is one because she works really hard and is often not appreciated.

Without the Prince in Sleeping Beauty she would not have woken up! Memorable Characters This character can be a hero Without the Prince in Sleeping Beauty she would not have woken up!

Memorable Characters The Character can be a Villain The Witch In Snow White is jealous of her beauty. Most people have felt like that before.

Memorable Characters These Characters don’t even have to be human! Just important to the fairy tale.

The Third Ingredient A challenge or obstacle to overcome This is important because it gives the character’s something to do during the story It could be: A destination to travel to: Over the bridge in the Billy Goats Gruff

Obstacle To Overcome Could be a person to rescue

Obstacle To Overcome Could be a curse to break

Obstacle to Overcome Could be to find true love

4th Ingredient for a Fairy Tale A happy ending! This makes the reader think that anything is possible

A Happy Ending The problem needs to be solved in a way that makes sense

and they lived happily ever after…….
