Presentation transcript:

Pledge of Allegiance at MMS   Pledge of Allegiance Each teacher is going to be assigned two weeks during the year to read the Pledge of Allegiance over the intercom in the mornings. This will take place in your classroom, so there is no need to send students to the office. When on the intercom, please only read the Pledge of Allegiance. There should be no additional commentary or announcements so be sure to only select students to read who you trust with the task. Protocol: Print out a copy of the Pledge of Allegiance and have it on hand for students to read. Even students who have it memorized get nervous and forget half way through. Hand it to your selected student to read over before the class begins. Immediately following the 8:10 bell, dial 9730 into your classroom telephone. Do not tell students the code or let them dial it in. Hand the phone to your student and have them read the Flag Salute. There is an audio delay, so it works better if students do not put their ear up to the handset. When the student is done reading, hang up the phone.

“Good morning Moscow Middle School. My name is ________ representing Mr./Mrs. ________room. Please stand and remove your hats for the Pledge of Allegiance.” Pause for 3 seconds….
