Year 10 Pathway C Mr. D. Patterson 1.  Recall Newton’s third law  Use Newton’s third law to explain the effects of collisions and other common events.
 Whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first. AKA….. All forces act in pairs!!!

STOP TOUCHING ME! I’M NOT TOUCHING YOU! YOU STOP TOUCHING ME! NEWTON’S THIRD LAW STOP TOUCHING ME! I’M NOT TOUCHING YOU! YOU STOP TOUCHING ME!

NEWTON’S THIRD LAW STATED IF TWO OBJECTS INTERACT, THE MAGNITUDE OF THE FORCE EXERTED ON OBJECT 1 BY OBJECT 2 IS EQUAL TO THE MAGNITUDE OF THE FORCE SIMULTANEOUSLY EXERTED ON OBJECT 2 BY OBJECT 1, AND THESE TWO FORCES ARE OPPOSITE IN DIRECTION.

FORCES EXIST IN PAIRS NO FORCE IS EVER THE ONLY FORCE THERE IS ALWAYS A PARTNER FORCE. FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION

ACTION-REACTION PAIR WHEN TWO OBJECT INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER THE FORCES THEY EXERT ON EACH OTHER THE ACTION-REACTION FORCES. THEY OCCUR AT THE SAME TIME. EITHER FORCE CAN BE THE ACTION OR REACTION.

FIELD FORCES FIELD FORCES ALSO EXIST IN PAIRS. EARTH’S GRAVITY PULLS ON AN OBJECT AND THE OBJECT PULLS ON THE EARTH. WE DON’T FEEL IT BECAUSE THE MASS OF THE EARTH IS SO GREAT.

IN PREPARATION OF THE HOLIDAYS THE RIGHT WAY TO WEIGH I feel so stupid!  DUH!  My only excuse is that I didn't have adequate training.    In the event any of you have been making the same mistake I have, weighing yourself, the following shows the correct way to get the most accurate results. I can't believe I have been doing it wrong all these years!
