The art department will have pottery or ceramics classes after the winter break.  It will be on Tuesdays or Thursdays so listen to the announcements after break for more information. Anyone can come and you do not need to attend every time.

GOOD NEWS!  Swope leadership will be hosting a winter dance on December 21st from 12:30 until 2:00 PM!!!  The theme is cozy holiday. Alternate activities are still being planned so keep listening to the announcements for more details.  

You must have 2 things under control In order to be eligible to go to the dance: #1 you must have no more than 3 tardies from December 6 through December 20th (the day before the dance).  #2 You must not have any missing assignments from December 6 through December 20th (the day before the dance).   Let’s all work hard, get to all of our classes on time, and get ready to DANCE on December 21st!!!!

Any and all donations are extremely appreciated. The Swope Holiday food drive is still going on through your enrichment classes. Please bring in those non perishable food items to help out families in need this holiday season Any and all donations are extremely appreciated.  

Along with the Holiday food drive The Library offers food for fines! Bring a non-perishable item to the library and Ms. Lester will erase your library fine.   One can = one book fine This doesn’t cover books that are lost or damaged. See Ms. Lester for more information

We are playing volleyball during intramurals this week and next week. Please check the intramural board to see when your team is playing.     

Attention 8th graders, if you are interested in aiding in the office, SAC or Library, we will be having a few spots opening up starting next semester. If you are interested, please see Ms. Kopal to see if you are eligible and if it will work with your schedule.   You must apply before the end of this semester.  

Attention 8th graders. As a reminder, if you are planning on applying for a signature academy, the applications are now available on the Washoe County School District website. You have until January 1st to submit your applications.

If you’ve lost anything between fall break and now, please go through the lost and found in the cafeteria.   Any items left in the lost and found will be donated to charity over winter break.

Just a reminder if you are planning on purchasing a yearbook for this school year we only have 46 yearbooks left. Once they are all gone we cannot purchase additional books.
