Anterior sonogram of a shoulder with calcific tendonitis Anterior sonogram of a shoulder with calcific tendonitis. Skin, subcutaneous tissue, and a thin layer of deltoid muscle are seen in the near field. A thin layer of fluid is noted in the subacromial bursa between the deltoid muscle and the supraspinatus tendon below.
