Queset House: classic exterior, tech-savvy interior UH

What is the Queset House? Set on the same campus as the main Library, the Queset House at 51 Main Street in Easton, MA, is named for the stream which winds through the grounds, and is a stone house of English Gothic style. A well-appointed, 17-room mansion, this house has beautiful walled gardens, sloping lawns, and a pathway to the restored Italianate Queset Garden. For the current renovations (Phase I) we have opened up 5 of the rooms to the public: 2 large presentation rooms, 2 smaller rooms collaboration, & a Digital Media Lab. UH

Makerspace @Queset House IN ACTION!

Queset House: Potential Patrons We envision the Queset House as a space for diverse & multi-generational patrons to work, play & create. The DML is an example of a high-tech multi-use common space that helps patrons contribute to the cycle of production, creating art, music, documents, & other artifacts that may even end up back in the library’s own collection.

Examples of Use: Self-employed entrepreneur created original textile designs using in-house software Photos taken by patrons for use in online storefronts Go-Pros (video equipment) to film skateboarding demo. to send to skateboard company for promotional use Band editing tracks for new CD, making labels & burning copies Artist creating digital artwork for portfolio and gallery showing Sewing machines used to create individual & group projects (i.e. quilt) Small group making original comic to distribute Green screen and video equipment employed by student filmmakers JB
