Annie The Musical By:Nicholas Korpi

Plot 11 year old girl named Annie. Lives in an orphanage run by a woman named Miss Hannigan. Annie escapes the orphanage in an attempt to find her birth parents. She was caught by a policeman, Lt. Ward, who found her at a local homeless town. “Daddy” Warbucks, a billionaire businessman who invites Annie to his mansion and eventually adopted her.

History Annie is based on a comic strip, Little Orphan Annie, which was created by Harold Gray in1924. The first Broadway production of Annie written by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin opened at Alvin theatre on April 21, 1977.

The first Broadway musical of Annie ran from April 21, 1977 till January 2, 1983. The comic created by Harold Gray was syndicated by Tribune Media Services, the comic strip actually got it’s name from a 1885 poem written by James Whitcomb Riley called Little Orphan Annie. Little Orphan Annie encouraged a radio show in 1930. Surprising Facts
