Presentation transcript:

Wind Chime Wind chimes can bring colour and sound to the garden, and they are very easy to make. You can even use recycled materials like bottle tops, tin cans or buttons in the design of your own unique wind chime. You will need: A stick Beads, buttons, bottle tops etc. Bells Ribbons String and a large needle A drill or hammer and nail 1. Decide how many strands your wind chime will have and ask an adult to make holes in your stick using a drill or hammer and nail. Don’t forget to add two holes for the hanging loop Decide how long your strands will be and cut lengths of string, allowing some more length to allow you to tie each strand to the stick. Attach a bell on the end of each strands and start threading your beads or other items. 2. Once all of your strands are threaded, tie each strand to your stick, using the holes. Try decorating the stick by painting it, or by covering it with ribbon. Trailing ribbons can also be a nice decorative feature. Tie some string to the stick to create a hanging loop. Your homemade, unique wind chimes could be a big seller at your You Grow-They Grow sale. If you live by the sea, why not collect seashells to make a beautiful seaside wind chime.
